I know, I'm a slacker. So much for my new year's resolution (no more procrastinating), but I still have about 357 more days to turn myself around. Anyway, I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I spent mine in Austin with four sickos. Three of us managed to stay healthy and I'm shocked one of the intact was me. I thought I was lacking an immune system after coughing for 5 months following a cold last year (no worries, chest x-ray and TB test were negative). But other than being surrounded by the infected and weathering the storm (literally...it rained about half the time), it was a nice Christmas. Jim's sister was kind enough to take me on a tour of downtown Austin, even though she wasn't feeling great (thanks, Martta!). The above picture was taken in front of the State Capitol building. We also went to the state history museum where I learned quite a bit (proud people, those Texans!).
But the most exciting thing that happened was Jim and Heather's purchase of a brand new house! They put their John Hancocks on ALL the paperwork and will be moving to Cedar Park, TX in the summer when the house is finished. I knew they would be moving since they've been talking about it for a while, but it was still a shock to see them go through with it. I don't know if I'll be following in their footsteps. I guess we'll have to see how long I can live without seeing my nephew and future niece (due in May). Oh yeah, I'll miss Heather and Jim, too. :)
